In this tale of love, loss and faith, Academy Award Nominee Samuel L. Jackson (
Pulp Fiction, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith) and Christina Ricci (
Sleepy Hollow) seek redemption through the power of the blues and the transcendence of an unlikely friendship.
Rae (
Ricci) is a promiscuous girl, who is known around town by all the men. Her boyfriend (
Justin Timberlake) is called to duty by the military. Upset by his call of duty, Rae sleeps with a number of guys and decides to intoxicate herself into oblivion. After a wild party, she is raped and dumped on the side of the road. Lazarus (
Jackson), a God-fearing man, finds Rae along the side of the road and nurses her back to health. He finds out that Rae is a loose girl, and chains her to a radiator. Rae tries to break loose, but is calmed by the Jazz music played by Lazarus.Things are nursing back to health until her boyfriend arrives back early from his tour.
