"Falling Down" follows the rapid decent of William Foster (Michael Douglas) from depressed white collar office worker, to angry vigilante. Unhappy with the way his life has turned out, and grieving over his lost child custody battle, Foster's city wide rampage quickly escalates. It becomes Detective Martin Prendergast (Robert Duvall) job to apprehend Foster before more people are hurt, including himself. Poised for retirement, Prendergast's final task on his last day on the force is to catch Foster. The game of cat and mouse becomes complicated, when Foster demands to see his estranged daughter. A final showdown between Foster and Prendergast shows how far we can all go when we fall down.
