Wesley Allen Gibson (James McAvoy) is an office worker stuck in a routine that he knows is slowly draining him of life. But Gibson's chance encounter with Fox (Angelina Jolie), a mysterious and beautiful stranger, and Sloan (Morgan Freeman), a man who seemingly knows everything about him, leaves his world turned upside down and shaken. Gibson discovers that the father he thought had died years before was actually a professional assassin and has only just recently died, brought down by another professional in the field. Fueled by eagerness to know the truth and to avenge his father's death, Gibson must sacrifice everything he knows and everything he holds dear - only to find that not all is what it seems.
