In Rome, Italy, in 1978, the Red Brigades terrorize people and there is a state of anarchy. A reporter, David Raybourne (Andrew McCarthy), is American who is there and trying to write a book. It is a novel but is based on real colleagues and friends of David’s. The book gets him too much unwanted attention from the terrorists, cops, and Allison (Sharon Stone), a journalist who is also an American. The Red Brigades think that David has too much information about them and their aspirations. There are chase sequences and riots, as well as steamy sex scenes between David and Allison.
