In this documentary, the voice of the narrator (Leonardo DiCaprio) leads the spectators in an interesting and somehow disturbing analysis of the state of our planet. The documentary contains the contributions from about 50 personalities, among the most eminent activists, politicians and scientists., like The Nobel Prize Wangari Maathai, the former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, the physicist Stephen Hawking and the environmental advocate David Orr. The main themes addressed in the interviews are those of deforestation, global warming and its effects, depletion of the marine habitat and the possible extinction of endangered species. The documentary, while full of catastrophic images about our present and our future, delineates also some hope in the form of the potential solutions that the technology and a rethinking of our role on the earth can offer.
